Description HANNIBAL, MO - Until Hannibal's schools were desegregated, Douglass School educated the African American students of Hannibal from grade one to graduation.   Although grades 10 through 12 were transferred to Hannibal High School in 1955, the elementary and junior high students stayed in this building until 1959 when the building was closed, and they, too, were transferred to other Hannibal schools.
