Description | HANNIBAL, MO - The 1959 Huck Finn Basketball Tournament was the last cross-town rivalry of the four junior high schools. The Douglass Eagles won the tournament under the coaching of O. E. Estill (2nd row, far left). The team members are 1st row, left to right, Leon Jackson, Larry Thompson, James Campbell, Sam Williams, Arch Allison, Gale Conley, and William Kirk, 2nd row, from left) Coach Estill, Isaac Harris, Robert Howard, Thomas Woodson, Harold Stanton, and Gabriel Hale. After this tournament, the Eagles would merge with the other teams into the Hannibal High School Pirates. |
