| DESCRIPTION | ILASCO, MO - It must be remembered that Ilasco as a town was created for the immigrant workers at the Atlas Portland Cement Company. This picture, taken from the hill above the town and behind the jail, shows the town's business district at the Marble Creek Bridge. These businesses supplied most of the personal needs of the community. In the background, a reminder of the link between the town and the company, is the large cement plant stock house. Although the town is now gone, the stock house still stands. |
