| DESCRIPTION | THE PLANT - This is one of the shale quarries of the Atlas Portland Cement Plant in its early years. Upon close examination the striations are visible. Removing this shale required a lot of backbreaking labor much of which was performed by immigrant laborers from southern Europe living in the company town of Ilasco. |
