TITLE Shaleton Shale Quarry (Section #3)
DATE OF ORIGINAL 1906-12-15
DATE OF DIGITAL 2006-2
DESCRIPTION THE PLANT - Two laborers, shovels in hand, pose at the base of part of the cliff of the Shaleton Shale Quarry.  Although neither of these men are identified, it is safe to assume that they were immigrant laborers living in the company town of Ilasco.  This picture is an excellent example of the wounds left in the hillside by quarrying.
