DESCRIPTION |
THE PLANT - This is 1/4 of a picture of
one of the limestone quarries of the Atlas Portland Cement Company in its
early years. Employees are visible on the top of the cliff, one with
the horse drawn wagon. In the left center are several other laborers
who appear to be in the process of loading a horse drawn cart.
Although none of the people in the picture are identified, it is safe to
assume that they were Central or Southern European immigrants living in
the company town of Ilasco. |
