| DESCRIPTION | THE PLANT - This is 1/4 of a picture of one of the limestone quarries of the Atlas Portland Cement Company in its early years. Employees are visible on the top of the cliff, one with the horse drawn wagon. In the left center are several other laborers who appear to be in the process of loading a horse drawn cart. Although none of the people in the picture are identified, it is safe to assume that they were Central or Southern European immigrants living in the company town of Ilasco. |
