DESCRIPTION |
THE PLANT - This is 1/4 of a picture of
one of the limestone quarries of the Atlas Portland Cement Company in its
early years. A number of employees can be seen although none are
identified. One employee, located in the left center, appears to be
carrying a stone fragment to the horse drawn wagon. On the upper
right corner are more employees as well as those employees on the top of
the cliff, again with horse drawn wagons. It is a safe assumption that
most of them were Central and Southern European immigrants living in the
company town of Ilasco |
