DESCRIPTION THE PLANT - Judging from the steam rising from the smaller chimneys the plant is hard at work.  The immigrant workers put in long hours, but the product they produced was top quality.  The company had control over them at work, but less so during their free hours at home.  Although Ilasco was a company town and its occupants worked at the plant,  the land upon which it sat was not owned by Atlas Portland Cement Company.
