TITLE Wedding of George Martinovich and Mildred Viglasky

DESCRIPTION ILASCO, MO - George and Mildred Martinovich had a very large wedding party as evidenced by this picture.  The participants are identified, from left to right, as Mary Hlasmik (seated left) and Silvia Apostol (seated right) ; row 1 (standing) - Rose Rukavena, John Neiderland, Paul Gasko, Katy Kitsock,  George Martinovich (groom), Mildred Viglasky Martinovich (bride), Helen Karabin, John Viglasky and Anna Valach ; row 2 (standing) John Bozalka, Joe Henska, John Karabin, John Mojzis, George Kristof, Joe Sunderlik, Margaret Karabin, Anna Sajban, Mary Mikula and Steve Valentik.  This wedding took place in the Dr. Martin Luther Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ilasco with Rev. George Majoros officiating.  The reception was held at the Viglasky home in Monkey Run and, true to tradition, lasted for three days and nights.  Also true to tradition, the best man and an attendant went from house to house to extend an invitation to the wedding where the best man would recite the invitation by memory and then offer a bottle of whiskey to the man of the house.  This was only the first reception for the couple ; a second was held in Sugar Creek, Missouri.
