DESCRIPTION |
ILASCO, MO - These three girls, identities
unknown, are posing behind a house in Company Row. The truly
interesting point of the picture is the house. Houses in this area
were built southwest of the company barn and stables, near the main quarry
spring. The fact that the house has siding rather than stucco walls
shows it is in Company Row rather than Pump House Hollow. Other than
this small difference, the houses were virtually interchangeable.
There was no running water in the house. Each house had an outhouse
(not in the picture). The monthly rent for this particular house would
have been $7.00. |
