DESCRIPTION ILASCO, MO - This gathering took place in "The Village" at the Besina House.  "The Village" was more upscale company housing than that in the LeBaume Valley.  Notice that the shed  behind the people is made of corrugated metal roofing.  It is important to remember that most of these immigrant people were very frugal ; they had to be.  The material used in this shed and many other buildings in Ilasco were salvaged from the Cement Plant.  The adults  in the picture are identified as, from left to right, John Palovich, John Viglasky, John Chemelko, Mrs. Chemelko, Anna Polc, Anna Valentik, John Polc, John Vajda, Mary Besina, Eva Valach, Susan Viglasky and Rev. Frantisek Macina (Slovak Lutheran Church).  The children, from left to right, are identified as Daniel Polc, Anna Valentik, Viola Valentik and George "Bish" Valentik.
