| DATE OF ORIGINAL | Unknown |
| DATE OF DIGITAL | 2006-2 |
| DESCRIPTION | ILASCO, MO - Three unidentified boys are shown with one of the company houses in the background. This house was located in the poorest of the company housing areas. Like all its fellows, it was 18' by 30', two storied concrete stucco. There were two rooms up, two down, with a kitchen annex at the rear. Each house had its own outhouse. There was no running water or electricity. For water the residents used a communal hand pump. The ultimate goal was to move on to the company housing at Company Row where conditions were only slightly better and then on to "The Village", the best of the housing. |
