DESCRIPTION ILASCO, MO - The congregation of this church was created in February 1911 and construction of the actual church began in August 1911 on land donated by Mr. & Mrs. Ben E. Hulse.  It cost $1,300 to build.  The church was dedicated on November 5, 1911  with Rev. J. H. White of the Hannibal Lutheran Church and a Slovak seminary student, Dusan Marcis, officiating.  This building witnessed all the important events in the lives of the Slovak Lutheran community of Ilasco:  weddings, baptisms, confirmations, picnics, and funerals.  On April 25, 1971, the church had two final services, and closed its doors forever.  The building, like most of the town, was eventually demolished.
