DESCRIPTION DISTRICT COURT, MO. - Pantaleone Genovese , an Italian immigrant, left his home in Papanice with his brother Frank shortly after his marriage in 1908.  After the requisite stay at Ellis Island, they came to Ilasco to work in the Atlas Portland Cement Company's sack department.  He worked hard.  He and his wife, who joined him in Ilasco in 1914, eventually realized the American dream of owning their own land.  They farmed together while he continued to work at the plant.  Imagine how proud he must have been when he achieved another dream, American citizenship.
