DESCRIPTION	ILASCO, MO - This is a Slovak mother and son from Ilasco ; although their identities are unknown, it is possible to recognize their ethnicity from the location of the photographer, their facial features and their clothing.  It must be remembered that these immigrants were separated from their families in Slovakia and would probably never see them again.  Therefore, most of these families, poor as many of them may have been,  scraped together enough money on a yearly basis to have their photographs taken.  (They were not wealthy enough to afford a camera and film ; therefore, it had to be the trips to the photographer's studio).
