DESCRIPTION |
ILASCO, MO - These three boys are
unidentified. The house behind them less so. This is
definitely one of the houses in Pump House Hollow, part of the company
housing provided for rent to the immigrant employees and their families by
the Atlas Portland Cement Company. It is an exact duplicate of the
other 15 houses in this part of the LaBaume Hollow (a.k.a. Pump House
Hollow). It was called Pump House Hollow by the inhabitants because
the only water source for the houses was an outdoor communal pump. |
