| DESCRIPTION | STILLWELL'S ADDITION, a.k.a. Monkey Run, a suburb of Ilasco, Mo. - Steve, an immigrant from Sasa, Slovakia, and Mary Kitsock Oslica, a Monkey Run native born to parents from Austria-Hungary, purchased this store, the only one in Monkey Run, from Mrs. Oslica's sister and brother-in-law in 1929. Mary was instrumental in running the store ; not only was she a good cook, but she was also bilingual which helped many of the immigrant families. In 1965 they retired and closed the store. |
