| DESCRIPTION | ILASCO, MO (MONKEY RUN) - Fannie Yetsela Konko is pictured here with her granddaughter, Virginia Kitsock. Mrs. Konko came to the United States in 1894 from Vsouckon C. Sanah Gal, Austria. She first worked in a glove factory in New York. Her brother-in-law arranged a marriage for her to Frank Konko, originally from Wes Leechiki Carpathian Mountains in Austria. At the time he worked as a miner in North Hampton, Pennsylvania. She journeyed there for the wedding. When Frank took a job with the Atlas Portland Cement Plant, she and their children followed him to Ilasco. Virginia is the daughter of Fannie's daughter Anna. |
