suburb of Ilasco) - This picture is typical of a one room school house's
student population. The age span of
the students is obvious from the picture. They are identified as follows : 1st row
(seated), Unknown, Margaret Oslica, Dorothy Smith, Steve Malaga, Leota
Smith, Johnnie Konko, Helen Konko, Billy Bowles, and Marshall Bowles ; row
2 Virginia Kitsock (partially hidden), Mildred Kitsock, Mary Wojcik, Wilma
Viglasky, Lena Johnson (really tiny girl), and Margie Malaga (half
hidden). Lady in the middle is Miss Grace Petrie, the teacher ; to
her left, in the cap, is Pearl Hudelson. The boys seated next to
Miss Petrie are Robert Cooper, Leo Cooper and Roscoe Cooper. The two
boys, in overalls, standing against the wall, are Walter Smith and Robert
