ILASCO, MO - These three boys,
identified from left to right as Steve Malaga, Johnnie Konko and Stanley
Sajban, appear in crepe paper costumes during the May Day
celebrations. Just imagine how difficult it must have been to make
these costumes, let alone wear them. Were they members of a drill
team, elves, members of a drill squad? It's impossible to
tell. The chairs behind and to the right of the boys were thrones
for the May Day court ; the building behind those
"thrones" is the Ilasco High School. Behind and to the
left of the boys can be seen one of the houses in the village of
Ilasco. |
