called the meeting to order at 3:45 p.m.
Hallie Yundt Silver
gave her report as Secretary/Treasurer of
the Friends and as the Library Director.
She reported that the IRS 990-PF and
the sales taxes for last year had been filed.
She reported that the Library’s
Summer 2012 grant had been funded.
Moved by
Debbie Bastian
and supported by Virginia Mulhern to approve
the Minutes of the meeting on October 20,
2011. Motion
carried.
Hallie Yundt Silver
provided the Financial Report.
It showed a balance of $498.54 in the
savings account and $15.00 in cash awaiting
deposit.
She reported that the Friends need to
make a charitable donation of about $50 to
make completion of the IRS 990-PF form easier
next year.

and supported by
Debbie Bastian
to donate $50 to the book fund of Hannibal
Free Public Library.
Motion carried.
Hallie Yundt Silver
also provided the Book Sale Report.
She reported that the Book Lover’s
Sale
netted $527.94 for the Library and attracted
approximately 338 people.
Expenses were minimal at $39.52 and
included three paid garage sale ads and
refreshments for staff and volunteers.
Per previous Library Board
instructions, several boxes of books were
donated to the
County
Jail
and
Missouri
Girls
Town
. Library
staff did a marvelous job getting the sale
ready to go.
Friends contributed time and grocery
bags. It
was a fine, low-key event, thanks to
everyone’s contribution.
Debbie Bastian
volunteered to distribute posters around
town for the sale in August.
Frances Hays provided the membership
report. There
are six names to add to the printed
Membership List.
Hallie Yundt Silver
reported that rough draft revisions of the
By-Laws had been written.
She and Linda Verdier plan to work on
them this spring.
There was consensus to
continue selling note cards.
Friends requested Library staff to
develop mock-ups of several note card ideas
in time for the June meeting.

2011-2012, including:

Virginia Mulhern shared a newspaper
article on Friends of the Library in
Louisiana
,
Missouri
. There
was consensus that Hallie should issue media
releases on the meetings of the Hannibal
Friends.
Debbie Bastian
announced that the next regular meeting will
be on Thursday, June 21.
Friends requested that
Cindy Haun
consider sharing her photos of
Africa
as the program for June meeting.
It was decided to forgo the genealogy
program today.
