Hallie Yundt Silver provided the Library Director’s Report.  Topics included:

·        Kick-Off in the Park was a great event.  We plan to do it again next year and hope the Friends want to participate again with a fundraiser.

·        Library Mini-Golf was a fun event although even lower key than last year.  We were disappointed with the turnout although everyone who attended seemed to have a great time.  It was a beautiful day, and we did not promote the event heavily.  Staff wants to try offering it again on a Saturday afternoon in September 2015.  Friends are invited to participate again with a fundraiser.

·        The Chess Tournament, which Harriet and Norm Grubb coordinated, attracted 14 adult players, 4 juniors, and a total audience of 24 people.

·        The Friends webpage has been revised.  Find the website at http://hannibal.lib.mo.us/friends_of_the_library.htm

·        Friends donated $50 in October 2013 to purchase books for the Library’s collection.  Titles included:  1. Jane Austen's England / Adkins 2. Mrs. Poe / Cullen 3. They Raised Me Up / Wilkins

·        Books were plated for the Friends and placed in the Library’s collection in memory of J. Hurley Hagood and Roberta Hagood.  Titles included:  1. Steamboat Bertrand and Missouri River Commerce by Switzer 2. Incident at Otterville Station.

·        Members of the Friends lost loved ones this year.  Books were plated in their memory and placed in the Library collection.  The following titles were plated for the Friends in memory of Jim Klene:  1. The Actual & Truthful Adventures of Becky Thatcher by Jessica Lawson 2. Cooking with Fire by Paula Marcoux 3. Dogtripping by David Rosenfelt 4. ·        Are there other memorials books that need to be selected and placed in the Library’s collection?
