Hannibal Courier Post Coverage

The Hannibal Free Public Library is honored to be a part of the Missouri Historical Newspapers Project.  To enhance our digital exhibit of the Mark Twain Zephyr, the October 1935 issues and 2 additional follow up pages from 1988 have been added to this project.

The dedication of the Mark Twain Zephyr received quite a bit of press coverage in October 1935.  The front page stories along with the happenings in the rest of the world are of particular historical interest.  Enjoy looking back at a glimpse of the events as "America's Hometown" prepared for an exciting celebration during the tumultuous year of 1935.

Use the drop down menu to access the Hannibal Courier Post and the drop down menus for the dates.  You may view by date or do a specific word search to access articles. If you have problems viewing the newspaper, make sure that you have any popup blockers disabled.

Many thanks to the Hannibal Courier Post for permission and to MOBIUS for digitizing  this newspaper project.
