| Description | HANNIBAL, MO - The Freight Office of the CB & Q Railroad is located in the Railroad Yards on South Main Street. Being so close to the Mississippi River, this building and the area around it is susceptible to heavy flooding (from not only the Mississippi River but also Bear Creek). Around the perimeter of the building are sandbags to help keep back the onslaught of the water that is expected or has recently receded. This building and the others surrounding it (not in picture) no longer exist, having been demolished. |
