| Description | HANNIBAL, MO - After many years, the Douglass School play area is receiving a hard surface for volleyball, basketball, tennis, etc. purposes. For safety situations, the ground under the playground equipment will not be given a concrete surface. Watching the surfacing are many of the individuals responsible for the project. They are O. E. Estill, physical director of Douglass School ; L. W. Riney, chairman of the city planning commission ; Arthur Green, a member of the recreation committee ; Fred Bryan, a member of the city council ; A. E. Hall, principal of Douglass School ; E. T. Miller, superintendent of the Hannibal Public Schools, C. J. Menzel, mayor, and O. G. Holway, city manager. Also, in the forefront of the picture, are two of the workers, James Todd and Frank Marshall. |
